Report reaching Republic News indicates that part of the Job 600 building in Parliament has caught fire.

The specific area affected remains unclear, but the entire building is being evacuated as a precaution.

Due to the incident, a scheduled meeting between the Assurance Committee and the Works and Housing Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has been postponed.

Job 600, a recent addition to the Parliament complex, was commissioned by President Akufo-Addo in 2020.

It is part of a larger project aimed at modernizing and improving the Parliament House’s infrastructure.

The Ghana National Fire Service is on the scene to contain the fire.
