The Management of Ghana Water Ltd. (GWL) has announced an interruption in water supply to parts of Accra following a fire outbreak at the Dodowa Booster Station.
According to the company, the incident forced a temporary shutdown of operations at the facility to allow engineers to carry out comprehensive repair works. Technical teams are currently on-site working around the clock to restore operations.
The Dodowa Booster Station serves several communities in the north-eastern parts of Accra, which are now facing low water pressure or no flow.
Areas affected include East Legon, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic, Frafraha, Ashaley Botwe, Adjiringanor, Ashongman, Dome, Adenta, Madina, Oyarifa, and their surrounding communities.
GWL management has assured the public that measures are being taken to rectify the situation as quickly as possible. Alternative arrangements are also being made to provide water to essential service providers, including schools and hospitals.
Residents and institutions running out of storage are advised to contact their Municipal Chief Executives (MCEs), Assembly Members, Unit Committee Members, or reach out directly to Ghana Water Ltd. through its call centres on 0207385089, 0207385090, or 0302218240 for assistance.
The company has apologized for the inconvenience caused and appealed for patience and cooperation from the public as efforts continue to restore regular supply.
