The Koforidua Metro Fire Crew, led by ADO I Serwaah-Kyere, swiftly responded to an early-morning fire outbreak involving a one-storey building at Abrewa Nkwanta at 0402 hours on Sunday, January 11, 2026. No casualties were recorded.
The crew arrived at Bright Hotel and Suites (American Base), where the affected building is located, at 0412 hours, brought the blaze under control at 0448 hours, and completely extinguished it at 0632 hours.
The fire engulfed the first floor of an uncompleted one-storey building, destroying its contents, while the ground floor and its property were successfully saved from total destruction. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
