President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech on the theme “Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a Community with a Shared Future” at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit today in Beijing.
He proposed elevating bilateral relations between China and African countries to strategic levels and building an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future.
President Xi on joint pursuit of modernization, emphasized the importance of modernization for China and Africa, stressing that it should be just, equitable, open, and people-centered.
He outlined five key areas for joint modernization efforts: Mutual learning and governance experience sharing, Trade prosperity and market access, Industrial chain cooperation and infrastructure connectivity, Development cooperation and livelihood improvement and Health, agriculture, people-to-people exchanges, green development, and common security.
Other ten partnership actions for modernization, including; Mutual learning among civilizations, Trade prosperity, Industrial chain cooperation, Connectivity, Development cooperation, Health, Agriculture and livelihoods, People-to-people exchanges, Green development and Common security.
On financial support, he stated that China will provide RMB360 billion yuan over the next three years to implement these partnership actions.
President Xi emphasized the importance of China-Africa cooperation in achieving modernization and promoting a community with a shared future.
He called for joint efforts to bring about a bright future of peace, security, prosperity, and progress for the world.
