Parliamentary hopeful and member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 General Election Campaign Team, Hon. Kofi Ntow Kwaning, has called on party faithful to prioritize unity and party-building over personal political ambitions.
Speaking during a food donation exercise for about 300 widows in Akyem Kade on Easter Monday, Hon. Ntow Kwaning emphasized that the NPP’s success in the upcoming elections depends on a collective and disciplined effort.
“Everyone deserves the opportunity to lead, whether as a parliamentary or presidential candidate,” he said. “But now is the time to strengthen the party, not to scramble for positions. Even I have refrained from formally declaring my intent.”
The Easter donation, organized through his Kofi Ntow Kwaning Foundation, sought to provide relief to widows facing economic hardships. The foundation, he stressed, is not politically motivated but rooted in a commitment to humanitarian service across Kade and the Kwaebibirem Municipality.
“Politics is just one phase of life. After politics, life continues,” he noted, addressing suspicions that his philanthropic efforts were a veiled political strategy. “We must focus on helping each other and lifting our communities.”
Widows who benefitted from the donation expressed their heartfelt gratitude, offering prayers and blessings for Hon. Kwaning and his team. Many shared stories of personal hardship, appealing for continued support for vulnerable groups in the constituency.
Hon. Ntow Kwaning encouraged others in the community to join efforts to tackle the pressing social and economic challenges in the area, reinforcing the message that collective action, not competition, is what will move the constituency forward.
