The former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), Gifty Oware-Mensah, has been released after being questioned by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities.
Oware-Mensah was reportedly taken into custody on Friday, March 7, and detained before she was released a day after.
Reports suggest that her questioning is part of a broader investigation into suspected ‘ghost names’ on the NSA payroll, a scheme often linked to financial mismanagement and corruption.
While the full extent of her involvement remains unclear, investigators are expected to recall her for further questioning as they continue their inquiries.
Her role in the ongoing NSA ‘ghost names’ scandal has drawn significant attention because she was a key figure in the administration and financial oversight of the Authority during her tenure.
However, she has yet to issue a public statement regarding the allegations.
