The Denkyira Traditional Council has praised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the profound impact of the Free SHS policy on the nation.
Welcoming Dr. Bawumia to Dunkwa-on-Offin on Wednesday during his campaign tour, the Council highlighted how the Free SHS policy, introduced by the Akufo-Addo administration to ensure equal access to secondary education, has greatly benefited the Denkyira community.
“While you’re here in Denkyira, let me commend President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and yourself for the outstanding work you’ve done,” said the Council in an address delivered by Nana Kwame Nkrumah II.
“Your flagship Free SHS policy has brought immense relief to the Denkyira community, especially for the less privileged who couldn’t afford to send their children to secondary school. Today, all our children attend school for free without putting financial strain on parents, resulting in a more educated young population, thanks to Free SHS.”
The Traditional Council also commended the Akufo-Addo government for bringing development projects to the community, including road infrastructure, the construction of a strategic bridge, an ongoing stadium project, and DRIP equipment for road construction.
Expressing support for Dr. Bawumia’s presidential bid, the Denkyira Traditional Council described him as blessed, stating, “Whom the Lord has blessed, no one can destroy.”
Dr. Bawumia’s visit to the town was accompanied by rare rainfall, which the Council viewed as a sign of blessings.
“Your presence here is a blessing for us all,” said Nana Kwame Nkrumah II. “The first sign of blessing is the rain. We haven’t seen rain in a while, but today, with your visit, God has opened the heavens. This rain coinciding with your visit is truly a sign of victory.”
