A fuel tanker that was discharging fuel to some tricycles at Kaase near Asokwa in the Ashanti Region caught fire on Friday, January 21, 2022, at about 3:00 pm.
Police say no fatalities have so far been recorded. However, about 40 wooden structures were burnt.
According to the Police, preliminary investigation has established that the driver of DAF tanker number AS 2531-19 was discharging fuel to some tricycle riders and in the process caught fire. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
The Police noted that the truck driver and the tricycle riders escaped the scene and have gone into hiding.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service managed to bring the fire under control.
“We are investigating and full details will be given in due course.” Police noted
