Ghanaian actor Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face, has been granted bail in the sum of GH₵120,000 after being in police custody.
Funny Face was involved in an accident around 8 PM on Sunday, 24th March 2023, after he reportedly knocked down about 5 pedestrians at Kasoa, Kakraba junction while driving under the influence of alcohol.
The actor was arrested and has been in police custody since.
In court on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, the Ofaakor Circuit Court in the Awutu Senya East District of the Central Region however granted him bail with two sureties and expected to re-appear on May 9.
According to prosecutors, four of the victims of the accident are responding to treatment and have been discharged while the fifth victim is currently recuperating.
