The Ghana Armed Forces officially welcomed back troops of Ghana Battalion 11 on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, following the successful completion of their mission with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan.
A Mission Accomplishment Parade, held at the 5 Infantry Battalion Parade Square in Burma Camp, marked the conclusion of the unit’s duty tour.
Brigadier General Kweku Dankwa Hagan, Deputy Chief Staff Officer for Operations and Training at the Army Headquarters, served as the Reviewing Officer on behalf of the Military High Command.
He congratulated the battalion on their successful mission and urged them to take pride in their accomplishments.
In his address, Brigadier General Hagan commended the battalion’s operational excellence and their humanitarian efforts, which fostered strong relations with the South Sudanese Defence Forces.
He also briefed the troops on upcoming internal operations and emphasized the need for readiness for future assignments.
Additionally, he advised the soldiers to maintain financial discipline, avoid unnecessary expenditures, and steer clear of Ponzi schemes to secure their financial future.
