The Gborbu Wulomo and Overlord of the Gadangme, Wor-Lumor Nuumo Borketey Larweh Tsuru XXXIII, has accepted the apology of the Greater Accra Regional Minster, Mr. Henry Quartey, after the latter erred in declaring June 26 as the date of the annual ban on drumming and noise making.

This development angered the spiritual head of the Gadangme who described such announcement as an affront to the tradition and customs of the Ga people and declared such as null and void.

In a press conference held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, the Gborbu Wulomo stated that as directed by him and other Wulomo’s the regional minister has apologised.

“He (Mr. Henry Quartey) has adhered to the caution expressed by the Gadangme people and has done what is necessary as demanded by our custom,” he stated.

“I would like to state here and now that the ancient adage states that to err is human and to forgive is divine.”

The Gborbu Wulomo said as human if one realized his mistakes and asks forgiveness, it is prudent for us all to accept the apology rendered and forgive him or her and move on as one people for the betterment and development of the Gadangme State.

He charged fellow Wulomoi and all traditional officeholders in the Gadangme state to remain resolute because the regional minister has shown leadership and pledged allegiance to promote and sustain the tradition, customs and rites.

“We have all seen the contribution of the minister in the socio-economic development of the Ga people, so we encourage him to continue to uphold the tradition in high esteem, “Gborbu Wulomo stated.

He appealed to the minister to ensure that Gadangme teachers are posted within the region for effective teaching and learning of the language and customs.

Gborbu Wulomo charged him to impress upon the Ghana Education Service to correct a false representation in the History Book and ensure it is rewritten.

The spiritual overlord of the Gadangme State reminded all churches, Ghanaians and cooperate organizations that the annual ban on drumming and noise make is still in force and it’s attended restrictions must be respected and adhered to.
