The main goal during the visit was to monitor, evaluate, and assess the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP), initiative in the region.

The Minister and her entourage as part of the visit, paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional Minister.

During the courtesy call, discussions were centred on coordinating efforts between the national and regional levels to ensure a seamless implementation of social protection and child-related programmes.

The team also interacted with GSFP caterers in the region to discuss ways to enhance the effectiveness of the school feeding initiative at all levels.

Additionally, the visit allowed Madam Lariba Abudu and her team to visit some GSFP beneficiary schools to interact with headteachers and also get firsthand information about food served to pupils.

Some of the schools visited include Danyame LA Primary and JHS, Presby Primary and JHS, Bomsu M.A primary and JHS among others.

The Minister also used the opportunity to share insights and updates on the achievements of the Ministry through media interactions.

The media engagement was to keep the public informed about the progress and impacts made by the Ministry.

In summary, the monitoring visit aimed not only to oversee the GSFP initiatives in the Ashanti Region but also to actively communicate achievements, engage with local stakeholders, and foster collaboration with regional authorities for more effective social protection measures.
