Gender, Children and Social Protection Ministry holds workshop on human trafficking

The Human Trafficking (HT) Secretariat in collaboration with Expertise France have organized a day's workshop to mobilize and consult key stakeholders to solicit inputs for the development of a communication strategy on human trafficking.

The Human Trafficking (HT) Secretariat in collaboration with Expertise France have organized a day’s workshop to mobilize and consult key stakeholders to solicit inputs for the development of a communication strategy on human trafficking.

The workshop which was held in Cape Coast, Central Region on Tuesday, 18th May, 2021 aimed at mapping out tools and channels of communication for use as well as the roles of stakeholders in the fight against human trafficking.

Participants of the workshop were made up of NGOs, FBOs and Government officials drawn from the Central, Western and Western North Regions.

The Development of a Communication Strategy on HT is being funded by the European Union under the project to support the government’s fight against human trafficking in Ghana.

The workshop sought to equip participants improve on detection, investigations and prosecutions of offences of Human Trafficking. The essence is for the Ministry of Gender to also foster collaboration among the law enforcement agencies in the fight against human trafficking in the country.
