Gender Ministry commends Catholic Relief Services

Hajia Lariba Zuweira Abudu, Deputy Minister/Minister Designate for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) on behalf of the Ministry commended the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) for their humanitarian activities and projects across the country.

She added that their tailor-made programmes were impacting lives positively.

Madam Lariba made these comments when a seven-member delegation from CRS led by its Ghana Country Representative, Mr Daniel Mumuni paid a courtesy call on the leadership of the Ministry on Tuesday, 13th December 2022.

The purpose of the visit was to interact and strengthen the relationship between the two institutions.

Mr Mumuni underscored the fact that CRS-Ghana works with relevant institutions/ organizations to tackle poverty with a holistic approach including projects that improve child and maternal health; increase access to clean water and sanitation; scale up farm production among others.

He assured CRS’s unwavering commitment to partner and support the Ministry to better the lives of Ghanaians especially the vulnerable group.

Board member of CRS Sr. Enelless Chimbali indicated that CRS’s collaboration with the Ministry and the Government of Ghana will be strengthened to ensure the livelihood of people is greatly improved.

The Chief Director for the Ministry, Dr Afisah Zakariah thanked the CRS team for their visit and for also improving the production and livelihood capabilities of poor smallholder farmers.

She pledged the Ministry’s readiness to partner with key and relevant institutions working to improve Child protection issues as well as strengthen family ties in the country.
