In anticipation of the 2024 International Day of the Girl Child, the Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Dakoa Newman, hosted students from selected schools at the Ministry for a special photo session.

This initiative is part of a wider social media campaign designed to amplify the voices of girls and showcase their dreams for the future.

During the session, the students participated in the #GirlsVisionChallenge, where each girl shared her vision for a better world.

Holding placards, they expressed their hopes for a future where every girl is empowered, educated, and protected.

These messages will be shared across social media platforms to raise awareness leading up to the International Day of the Girl Child.

Madam Dakoa Newman, speaking to the young girls, emphasized that they are the future leaders of the nation, and their dreams and voices hold the power to drive change.

She urged all stakeholders to work collaboratively to ensure that every girl can pursue her dreams without barriers.

The 2024 International Day of the Girl Child will be celebrated on October 11, 2024, under the theme “Girls’ Vision for the Future.”
