The President of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier, arrived in Ghana on Sunday, November 2, for a three-day state visit.

He was received at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) by Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and the German Ambassador to Ghana, Mr. Frederik Landshöft.

Accompanied by a high-level delegation, President Steinmeier is scheduled to hold official meetings with his host, President John Dramani Mahama, on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the Presidency in Accra.

The official programme will commence on Monday with President Steinmeier’s inspection of a full military guard of honour at the forecourt of the Presidency.

Following this, he and President Mahama will hold a closed-door meeting before joining their respective delegations for bilateral talks in the Credentials Room.

Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening Ghana–Germany relations, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, technology, and development cooperation.

In the afternoon, a state luncheon will be held in honour of President Steinmeier and his delegation at the Presidential Banquet Hall.

On Tuesday, President Steinmeier will travel to Kumasi, where he is scheduled to meet the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. He is also expected to participate in other engagements before his departure later that evening.
