The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that the school placement portal will be open from September 1 to 8, 2025, allowing students to review and confirm their selected schools ahead of the final placement exercise scheduled for September 17.

At a press briefing in Accra, the Director-General of GES, Professor Ernest Davis, said the initiative is aimed at ensuring transparency and accuracy in the placement process.

“For the first time, candidates will have the opportunity to review their entries,” he explained, adding that students are expected to report to their respective schools between October 18 and 20, marking the start of the new academic year.

Professor Davis cautioned parents and guardians against paying bribes to influence placements, emphasizing that school placement is free. “Anybody who sells placement to a parent or guardian is engaging in an illegal business.

Such persons should be reported to law enforcement agencies,” he stressed.

He also disclosed that private schools have been included in the placement process for the first time, allowing students to choose from both public and private options.

“Private schools have been added to the list of schools to be chosen. They are part of the database of schools available for selection,” he said.
