The Ghana Education Service (GES) has strongly condemned the assault on a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School after a disturbing video of the attack went viral on social media.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, and signed by Head of Public Relations Daniel Fenyi, the GES confirmed that the viral footage showed former students physically attacking Mr. Michael Quayson, a teacher at the school.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the incident took place on October 5, 2025. The ex-students reportedly targeted the teacher because they were displeased with his strict supervision during the Christian Religious Studies paper of the 2025 WASSCE.

GES further indicated that the attack was never reported to the school authorities or the Service until the video surfaced online, prompting the Service to immediately take up the matter. The statement labeled the incident as “unacceptable, unlawful, and a direct affront to the dignity of the teaching profession,” assuring that the perpetrators will face serious consequences under national laws and GES disciplinary regulations.

The Service also reaffirmed its unwavering support for teachers nationwide as they uphold discipline and protect the integrity of examinations.

“We encourage all students to maintain discipline and respect authority,” the statement added.
