The Ghana Education Service (GES) has advised the general public against corrupt persons who defraud parents with the excuse of securing placement for their wards into their preferred senior high schools across the country.

GES gave this advice in a statement dated January 29, 2023 as preparations are ongoing for the release of Senior High School placements.

In the statement, GES pleaded with the general public to be on the lookout for deceitful persons and help report them to the nearest police station to face the law in order to serve as a deterrent to others from engaging in the deceitful act.

“Management strongly cautions the general public NOT to fall prey to deceitful persons that may approach them to pay money for a place in SHS. Such persons are to be reported immediately to the Police”, the statement said,

The Ghana Education Service further cautioned guardians to use the official GES handles to have their enquires and issues resolved and also warned against fake news which may mislead them.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) also assured the public of its commitment to ensuring a smooth, merit-based SHS placement process under the established guidelines and looks forward to your full cooperation.
