Municipal Chief Executive Officer of Juaben Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti region, Hon Omane Aboagye has called on all his assembly members to get excavators in their electoral areas registered to avoid illegal use.
The government and the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources set November 2, 2022, as the deadline for all excavator owners in the country to get their excavators registered with the local government authorities.
This according to the government is part of measures put in place to fight galamsey in the country.
Speaking to Assembly members, Hon Omane Aboagye asked his members to assist and get the machines registered as the government has ordered to get the data for easy assessment.
He again called on all illegal miners to desist from their activities since the law will not favour anyone if caught.
