The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has rendered an apology to sports journalist, Saddick Adams for blocking him on X (formerly Twitter).
Mr. Adams on Wednesday disclosed that he had had his account on X blocked by the GFA administrator, and requested to be unblocked.
However, it is unclear why he was not allowed to access the GFA account anymore.
He has been one of the journalists in the country, who has been pushing for reforms in Ghana’s football administration recently following Black Stars’ early exit from the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
“Dear my brother @kurtokrakuand @MistarHAT, I have never used any offensive words or abused or even tagged GFA on this space. I follow this handle to access information. Whoever is in charge of the handle that has blocked me, thank you very much,” he wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of the GFA, Prosper Addo, in reacting to the incident on X, apologised to Saddick, explaining an error on their part led to him being blocked.
“Dear @SaddickAdams, my brother. This was an error and was corrected immediately it came to our attention. Apologies for this mishap, my brother. Talk to you immediately after the Meet The Press.”
