The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially announced the expiration of its contract with Nora Hauptle, who served as the Head Coach of the Senior National Female Football Team, the Black Queens.
In a statement released on Friday, the GFA expressed its gratitude to Hauptle for her dedication and contributions to the development of the Black Queens and Ghana women’s football over the past two years.
“Nora Hauptle’s tenure with the Black Queens has been marked by professionalism and commitment. We sincerely thank her for her service and wish her the very best in her future endeavors,” the statement read.
Hauptle, whose contract ended on December 31, 2024, had her salary and accommodation fully covered by the GFA throughout her tenure. Renewal negotiations began in June 2024, with the GFA offering an enhanced salary package and improved working conditions. Despite the association’s efforts, the two parties could not reach an agreement on renewal terms.
The GFA assured fans and stakeholders that plans to appoint a new head coach for the Black Queens are already underway and will be announced in the near future.
Hauptle’s departure leaves a vacancy in the leadership of the Black Queens as the team looks ahead to future tournaments. The GFA’s decision to provide a “significantly enhanced” offer during negotiations underscores its commitment to elevating the standards of women’s football in Ghana.
Fans and analysts are now awaiting the announcement of the next coach, who will inherit the task of steering the Black Queens to new heights.
