Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has emphasized that Ghana and the United States will continue to work closely to strengthen the economies of both countries.

Speaking at the Centre for Global Africa meeting in Delaware, USA, Minister Ablakwa highlighted some of the initiatives and partnerships Ghana has been championing to improve the welfare of its citizens.

At the event, he praised the strides Ghana continues to make under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama’s government.

He also outlined ambitious policies of the NDC-led administration aimed at setting Ghana on the right developmental path.

Ahead of the 80th United Nations General Assembly, themed “Better Together: 80 Years of Peace, Development and Human Rights,” Minister Ablakwa stated that Ghana is prepared to make a statement of hope, peace, development, and human rights on the global stage.

He further spoke on measures to make Ghana a model among its peers, including setting clear KPIs for ambassadors to ensure ambitious and results-driven economic diplomacy.

Minister Ablakwa emphasized that Ghana’s new era of diplomacy focuses on tangible gains for the country while leveraging opportunities abroad to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ghana’s approach have been lauded by Africans and Ghanaians alike for employing innovative and effective strategies in strengthening international relations and achieving practical results.
