Ghana’s men’s 4 x 100-meter relay team is getting ready to compete in the 2024 World Athletics Relays, which will be held from May 4–5, 2024, at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas.
This championship which is crucial to this year’s Olympic qualification to Paris will attract the world’s top-performing athletes from over 40 countries.
Ghana’s men’s relay team is currently ranked 15th in the world and its primary objective is to qualify for the for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, France.
Securing silver medals at the 2023 African Games and the Penn Relays behind Nigeria and Jamaica, the team is focused on accumulating points or secure automatic qualification to Paris.
Head of Ghana Athletics, Bawa Fuseini is however optimistic about the team representing Ghana in Paris and encouraged corporate bodies to invest in supporting these athletes as they compete in the qualifying championship.
Although Benjamin Azamati missed the Penn Relays, he has joined forces with Ibrahim Fuseini, Isaac Botsio, Sean Safo-Antwi, and Joseph Paul Amoah to boost Ghana’s chances of securing Olympic qualification.
The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be the biggest event ever organized in France.
The Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11 2024.
