The Ghana Hajj Board has announced that Ghanaians who are willing to perform the 2024 Hajj Pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia are expected to pay a fee of GH¢75,000 equivalent to $6,250 same as last year.
During a press conference at the Hajj Village in Accra, the Chairman of the Hajj Board, Ben Abdallah Banda, disclosed that, last year, the board promised to maintain the price this year without any increment.
“When the package was announced last year, we did say that we would maintain the same cost irrespective of whether the Cedi loses its value against the dollar or not. Today, we are happy to announce that we are making good on our promise. The gaps that have obviously cropped up in costing the package will not be borne by the pilgrims,” he said.
He disclosed that, the deadline for making payment is mid- March.
“Given the timeline to Hajj and the activities such as the presentation of passports to the board, issuance of visas, and the preparation of flight schedules to and fro, the deadline for the payment of the Hajj fare is mid-March 2024″, he added.
Abdallah further explained the packages the money comes with, which includes, visa acquisition, return flight from Ghana to Saudi Arabia, internal transportation, including from Madina to Makkah, Makkah to Mashaa’ir (Mina and Arafat), Mashaa’ir to Makkah and to Jeddah Airport.
“Accommodation and feeding at Madina, Makkah and Mashaair for one month; 40kg luggage without charge, bags, processing of ID Cards, Zamzam water, medical care, security services and Hajj guide from the Daawah team to aid in the seamless performance of Hajj rites”, he emphasized.
