The Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Mr Joe Anokye has assured Ghanaians that Ghana has a SIM database that has integrity.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, April 26, he said Ghana now has a single central SIM register and as a result, every SIM in the central SIM registration database can be traced to a unique Ghana card.
” It is important to note that Ghana now has a SIM database that has integrity.
Every active registered SIM in the current SIM registration database, can be traced to a unique Ghana card.
That was not the case at the beginning and onset of the exercise,” he added.
He further promised consumers that their registration information is safe.
“To our valued consumers, we can assure you that your registration information is safe.
Your data has not been breached, and and the NCA is working with stakeholders, committed to ensuring the continuous integrity of the SIM register,” he said.
