The Ghana Railway Development Authority has confirmed the procurement of some new trains for the Tema-Mpakadan railway project.
Yusif Tahiru Adams, a representative from the Corporate Unit of the Ghana Railway Development Authority, while speaking in an interview with Akwasi Amoah Nyamekye on Republic FM’s Anopa Dawuro show on Tuesday, January 23, affirmed the authenticity of circulating images depicting new trains purportedly procured by the Government of Ghana from Poland.
Mr. Adams confirmed that the Government of Ghana has indeed acquired two trains earmarked for deployment on the 97.6km Tema-Mpakadan Railway Project.
He conveyed that the first train is expected to be delivered by the end of March 2024, with the second slated to arrive approximately seven months thereafter.
