The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, has alleged that Ghana remains the preferred tourist destination for diasporas and non-Ghanaians.
He said this during the presentation of the 2024 budget in parliament on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.
According to the minister, the steady stream of domestic and international tourists also requires dedicated spaces in cities to drive a night economy and tourism.
“Mr.Speaker, as we promote ‘December in GH’ initiatives, we will also work towards enhancing security and the lighting infrastructure. A Task Force, comprising Public regulators and Private sector actors, has already been established to drive the Night Economy initiative under a public private partnership arrangement”, he added.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Tourism Authority has endorsed the Ghana Bloggers Association’s agenda to promote the positive aspects of Ghana leading up to December in Ghana (GH).
A few days ago, the Bloggers Association launched an activation, urging all social media users and bloggers to focus on sharing positive news throughout Ghana under the thematic blogging initiative Blog and promote Ghana’s agenda.
The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, has said that since 2019, the ‘December in Ghana’ event schedule is one that many travellers look forward to when planning their activities for their holiday trip to Ghana. For locals, it offers the opportunity to know what is going on around the country in December.
December in Ghana is the country’s biggest celebration of all things cultural, entertainment, adventure, nightlife, fashion, gastronomy, tours, and community service.
