The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at the Police Headquarters has rescued seventy-eight (78) Nigerian nationals who were trafficked into Ghana under the guise of securing decent employment.
According to police intelligence, the victims, all young men, were deceived with promises of legitimate jobs but were instead forced into engaging in cyber fraud activities against their will.
A special operation carried out by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit led to the rescue of the victims, as well as the arrest of four Nigerian suspects believed to be directly involved in the recruitment and exploitation scheme.
Victims Repatriated
Police confirmed that the rescued victims have since been repatriated to Nigeria and handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for rehabilitation and reintegration with their families.

Suspects in Custody
The four arrested suspects are currently in police custody assisting investigations.
Authorities say they are facing possible prosecution once investigations are concluded.
Meanwhile, some key figures in the trafficking syndicate, including their alleged leader known as “Chairman,” remain at large.
Police have assured that frantic efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them before the law.
The AHTU emphasized its commitment to cracking down on human trafficking networks operating within Ghana, adding that further updates will be provided as investigations progress.
