My gratitude goes to Sankofa Events and Mr. Paul Sinclair for choosing Ghana as the new host, showcasing his dedication to advancing Africa’s energy sector,” the President stated in a goodwill message.
At a press launch held on November 13, 2024, in Accra, Paul Sinclair, CEO of Sankofa Events and owner of AOW, highlighted Ghana’s exemplary role as a resource-rich nation with a robust legal system and business-friendly environment. “Hosting AOW in Accra underscores our commitment to ensuring that Africa’s energy potential drives economic development sustainably and inclusively,” Sinclair remarked. He emphasized the need to balance oil and gas with renewables to meet long-term energy demands while embracing low-carbon strategies.
Sinclair also pointed out Ghana’s status as a model for strategic international partnerships in natural resource development, stating, “Africa Oil Week is about Africa taking charge of its resource development, seeking partners who share a vision for equitable growth.”

He underscored the essential role of oil and gas in Africa’s economy, stating, “Our commitment is to make AOW the premier energy dialogue on the continent, fostering transformative discussions that shape Africa’s energy future.”
