Ghana is set to host the Mining and Minerals Convention 2025, a high-level industry gathering poised to reshape the country’s gold and minerals sector through dialogue, innovation, and strategic investment.
Scheduled for August 26–27, 2025, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, the two-day event will bring together key actors from across the mining value chain—including government leaders, mining executives, investors, regulators, and sustainability experts.
The convention is being organised by MeetingsCo in collaboration with several leading institutions in the extractive sector. It will run under the theme, “Shaping the Future of Ghana,” highlighting the country’s ambition to modernise and maximise the value of its mineral resources, particularly gold, in a sustainable and globally competitive manner.
With Ghana maintaining its position as one of the top gold producers in Africa, the event is expected to provide a critical platform for forward-looking discussions on best practices, responsible mining, and sector resilience. Stakeholders will explore opportunities to enhance policy, promote innovation, and deepen value addition in the minerals industry.
Among the anticipated highlights are keynote addresses from the President of Ghana, sector ministers, and global mining leaders. The agenda includes technical sessions and policy dialogues on a wide range of topics—such as Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) frameworks, digital transformation in mining, responsible sourcing, resource governance, and local beneficiation.
The convention enjoys strong institutional backing from the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Minerals Commission, Ghana Gold Board, Minerals Income and Investment Fund (MIIF), and the Ghana Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (GEITI). These organisations are expected to contribute to shaping the policy and regulatory discussions.
Organisers say the convention will also serve as a vital public-private interface—creating space for collaboration, partnerships, and capacity-building. It is expected to result in actionable policy recommendations and investment commitments that can accelerate the transformation of Ghana’s mineral economy.
The Mining and Minerals Convention 2025 will further position Ghana as a leader in Africa’s mining renaissance and a hub for transparent, responsible, and tech-driven mineral development.
