Black Stars player, Tarique Lamptey has explained what contributed to his decision to switch nationality to play for Ghana’s national team.
According to Lamptey, there are many factors that influenced his decision but the major one for him was the kind of feeling he had during his charity foundation work in Ghana.
Speaking in an interview on Citi BreakFast Show, he said his engagement with the people affected his choice.
“I think it was a number of things that came into it, but one of them was when I was doing my charity foundation last summer, and just the people, and you see them and is like amazing feeling that they give you so that obviously made the decision.”
The 22 year old agreed to play for the Black Stars in May 2022, and was part of the Black Stars squad for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Prior to his switch, he had previously represented England Under 18 and Under 21 national teams.
