Several reports from Turkey indicate that Ghanaian winger, Christian Atsu has been rescued after he and his team’s Sporting director were trapped under rubble for more than 24 hours following Monday morning earthquake in Turkey.
The current development has brought some relief to many Ghanaians who were worried about the incident.
Messages of hope and support have poured in from across the wider football family for those caught up in the tragedy that rocked Turkey and Syria – including many for Atsu, whose career has seen him play in the Premier League with Chelsea, Everton and Newcastle, as well as in Spain, Portugal and Netherland.
“Glory be to God. Christian Atsu rescued alive. We wish him excellent & speedy recovery from his injuries.” Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwah wrote on Twitter.
