Former General Secretary for the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) Nana Yaa Jantuah has noted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) booted John Dramani Mahama out of government with lies and deception.
According to her, John Dramani Mahama was on the path of development and shaping Ghana’s future when the NPP in 2016 threw dust into the eyes of the people of Ghana to push him out.
The former CPP General Secretary said the evidence of John Dramani Mahama’s gradual transformation is there for everyone to see and therefore he deserves another opportunity to come and make the country better than it is now.
“The works of Mahama are there for all to see. If we put our fingers down, we can point to what he did. When we went to the New Year School, CLOSAG asked about their salary increment, among others. He told them what exactly he intended to do when he came to power. He said he would make sure he blocked all holes where there was leakage and ensured that he raised enough revenue for the state. He said he would look for some money so that we could pay off our debt with the IMF so that there would be no conditionalities on Ghanaians so that he would know how to help Ghanaian workers. If such a person asks for a honeymoon, he deserves it. Some won’t ask, but they cannot do the job,” she said.
She is of the view that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia does not make the cut to be President of Ghana because all his promises have not seen the light of day.
“He said when the fundamentals are weak, the exchange rate will expose you. You see that he has been exposed by the exchange rate now? If you are a Vice President and you can’t help your president to govern the country you cannot come and tell us that we should wait for you to become President before,” she said on Accra-based United Television.
