The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted the headmistress of Ghana Senior High School in Koforidua in the Eastern Region, Patience Naki Mensah, for allegedly selling unauthorised items to Form One students who have been admitted to the school.
In a press statement issued by the Eastern Regional Director of Education, Ivy Asantewaa Owusu, on Thursday, December 7, 2023, has directed the Headmistress, Patience Naki Mensah to step aside with immediate effect for further investigation into the allegation.
Madam Mensah will add to the number of headteachers who have previously been indicted for allegedly charging unapproved fees since the implementation of the Free SHS policy.
