GHS, KATH and TTH Governing Boards inaugurated

The Minister for Health, Mr Kwaku Agyemang-Manu has inaugurated the governing boards of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Komfo Anokye and Tamale Teaching hospitals.

The Minister for Health, Mr Kwaku Agyemang-Manu has inaugurated the governing boards of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Komfo Anokye and Tamale Teaching hospitals.

He tasked board members to deal with labour agitations and ensure efficient management of internal generated funds.

The 12-member board of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has Dr Sefah Sarpong Bediakoh as the chairperson. Members include Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kumah-Aboagye, Mr Ben Ampomah Nkansah from the Ministry of Health, Madam Edna Baffour-Awuah from the Ministry of Finance, from the Education Ministry is Mr Bernard Selasi Dzomeku, Mr Isaac Nsarko Biney of the Ministry of Local government and rural development and Mr. Franklin Owusu Ansah from the Health Workers Union of the T.U.C.

The president’s nominees are Mr Isaac Kwesi Hammond, Col. Gordon Alexis Obiri Appiah, Mr Harrison Kofi Abutiate, Mr Walliams Frimpong-Bonsu and Dr Haggar Hilda Ampadu.

Ambassador Nana Effah-Apenteng chairs the 11 member’s board of the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital. The members include Dr Oheneba Danso, chief administrator, a legal practitioner, Mr Maxwell Ooku-Agyemang, Dr Caroline Reindorf Amissah, a medical practitioner, an Allied Health professional, Dr William Kwadwo Antwi, a pharmacist, Mr Charles Dontoh and a Nurse Mrs Hannah Okyere Boateng.

The rest are Prof. Daniel Ansong and Rev. Sr. Prof. Francis Emily Owusu-Ansah both a representative of the Health and Education Research, Dr Kofi Afoakwa with a background in finance and risk management and Dr Kwaku Oteng, a business person.

The 11 member board of the Tamale Teaching Hospital is also chaired by Mr Hahmoud Hamid Nassir-Deen. The other members are a chief administrator, Dr Kareem Mumuni, legal practitioner, Dr Divine Ndonbi Banyubala, medical practitioner, Dr Leticia Adelaide Appiah, and Allied Health Professional, Dr Ahmed Abdullah Mashud and a pharmacist, Dr Charles Agyemang Fordjour.

The rest are Madam Mariam Coffie, a midwife, Prof. Gideon Kofi Helegbe and madam Gifty Mary Wuffele, Mr. Matthew Yaw Kyeremeh with experience in finance and risk management and Alhaji Addul-Rahman Al-Hassan a business person.
