The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) through the Ghana Irrigation Development Authority (GIDA) is rehabilitating the Siniesi Kasa Irrigation Scheme in the Builsa North District.

The intervention is made through the Agriculture and the Food Security Programme, aimed at contributing towards achieving the Planting for Food and Jobs Phase II targets in crop production.

As work is set to commence in two weeks, the Siniesi Kasa community eagerly awaits the rehabilitation of their irrigation scheme, hopeful for a better future in agriculture and food production.

The community is looking forward to seeing the dam restored to its full functionality.

Speaking after the handing over of the Site to the contractor, Engineer, Richard Oppong Boateng expressed his excitement for the project and the opportunities it will bring to the community under the PFJ 2.0.

He said the scheme has the potential to contribute towards reducing tomato importation by increasing local production.

The facility when rehabilitated would bring hope and re-engage the youth in agriculture and curb rural-urban migration out of their communities.

The contractor Messrs Safaa-Marwa Enterprise Limited on his part promised to deliver on time but would require cooperation from the community to execute the task ahead.
