The Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has announced that the new Ghana Knowledge and Skills Bank (GKSB) portal provides students with educational resources and AI tools for exam preparation.

She also highlighted the successful completion of the eTransform project, which has been succeeded by the Ghana Digital Accelerated Project (GDAP).

The GKSB portal offers students access to a wide range of educational resources, quality education, mobile applications with offline learning capabilities, career planning tools, and AI integration for exam preparation. It creates a universal digital library that integrates resources from global platforms and local researchers, making it accessible to all. This empowers students to develop skills in self-learning, problem-solving, critical thinking, digital literacy, research competence, goal management, communication, investigation, and media literacy.

Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful encouraged all Ghanaians, especially students, to explore the GKSB portal and take advantage of its offerings. She noted that the portal was developed by Impomtuo Technologies, a wholly Ghanaian-owned company, with support from telecommunications giant MTN and funding from the World Bank.

Additionally, the Minister announced that the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation is establishing technology laboratories in Senior High Schools, starting in underprivileged areas.

“Digitalisation is key to addressing many challenges in Ghana’s education system, including limited access to quality resources and disparities between urban and rural areas,” she said. “To ensure equal access to digital infrastructure, the Ministry is setting up technology laboratories in Senior High Schools, beginning with deprived areas.”

The GKSB portal was officially launched on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the Accra Digital Center.
