Fast-growing delivery service in Ghana, Glovo is expected to shutdown its operations from 10:00 pm this evening.
Glovo made the announcement about a week ago to withdraw from the Ghanaian market stating that it would require an “ extended period of time” for it to build a stronger position in the market and achieve profits.
The decision according to sources will negatively impact about 30 direct staff including managers and workers across various departments as the company has begun pulling down some signposts and equipment at its East Legon branch.
It was founded in 2015 in Barcelona and operates across 23 countries in Europe, Central Asia and Africa.
Despite leaving Ghana, it will still operate in Ivory Coast, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Tunisia, and Uganda.
