On Wednesday, 7th January 2026, the Volta Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), under the supervision of ADOI Anthony Akpabli, responded promptly to a fire outbreak at a woodwork shop.
The fire was quickly contained, preventing its spread to Letsa Shopping Gate, an MTN mast, and other adjoining buildings.
Two fire tenders were deployed to the scene: one from the Municipal Fire Station and another from the Regional Headquarters.
