The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has condemned recent attacks on its officers and vowing to pursue strict legal action against perpetrators.
This comes on the back of a recent incident where a driver and his mate assaulted a firefighter from the Ministries Fire Station.
In a statement released on Tuesday, September 10, GNFS explained that ADO II Abdul Aziz Annor, a firefighter from the Ministries Fire Station, on September 3, 2024, sustained a fractured ankle after being attacked by a driver and his mate while he was replenishing the station’s fire truck at the La Palm T-Junction.
GNFS further noted that, the suspects were arrested and granted bail on September 9, 2024, with court proceedings scheduled for October 24.
The Service has assured affected personnel of providing the necessary care and take all necessary legal steps to ensure justice for all affected personnel.
