The Goka Citizens Association has achieved a major milestone in its mission to enhance road safety by commissioning a modern roundabout in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region.
The project, valued at 39,000 Ghana cedis, addresses a notorious T-junction that has long been a hotspot for accidents, injuries, and fatalities.
As a non-profit organization dedicated to community development, the Goka Citizens Association led the initiative to construct the roundabout as part of its broader efforts to improve infrastructure and public safety in the district.
The roundabout project was spearheaded by the association’s founder, Mr. Ankamah Joshua, who officially handed over the new infrastructure to Goka’s traditional leaders during a formal ceremony.
The traditional leaders, led by Abusuapain Nana Ankama Mensa Abrampa of Goka, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the association for its efforts to improve the community’s safety and well-being. They highlighted the significance of the roundabout in reducing road accidents and saving lives, describing it as a much-needed intervention for the area.
In addition to the roundabout project, the Goka Citizens Association has unveiled ambitious plans for further development within the community.
These include the construction of a nursing training college, an ultra-modern police station, and other infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents. Traditional authorities have commended the association’s vision and expressed enthusiasm for the positive changes these initiatives will bring.
The newly commissioned roundabout stands as a symbol of the association’s commitment to addressing the pressing needs of the community. As Goka continues to develop, the collaboration between the Goka Citizens Association and the traditional leaders demonstrates the power of collective effort in driving meaningful progress.
