Aggrieved customers of defunct Gold Coast Fund Management will hit the streets on Tuesday, September 1, in a fresh push for government to release their outstanding locked-up investments.
The planned action comes after the customers’ demand for a full budgetary allocation to settle their claims was not addressed in the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review.
Ahead of the budget, the group had urged President Mahama to direct the Finance Ministry to make provision for the complete payment of outstanding claims, arguing that thousands of affected investors had endured years of financial hardship.
The customers will converge at the forecourt of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Osu before being transported to Jubilee House to petition President John Mahama over the delayed payments.
The latest mobilisation therefore marks a renewed escalation of pressure on government, with the customers now taking their demands directly to the Presidency.
In a press statement, Convener of the Aggrieved Customers of Gold Coast Fund Management, Charles Nyame, is urging affected investors to participate in what he describes as a critical moment after years of waiting.
The group is also inviting customers of other collapsed financial institutions to join the action, saying the wider financial sector clean-up left thousands of investors with outstanding claims.
The customers have stressed that the exercise will be peaceful and orderly, with buses expected to transport protesters from Osu to Jubilee House rather than having them walk to the Presidency.
Their renewed demand comes against the backdrop of a prolonged compensation process following the financial sector clean-up. Gold Coast Fund Management, later renamed Blackshield Fund Management, was among the institutions whose licences were revoked during the exercise.
In July, the customers had specifically appealed for full payment to be captured in the Mid-Year Budget, warning that further delays would deepen the hardship faced by affected investors.
With that demand unresolved, the group is now taking its campaign directly to Jubilee House, insisting that government must provide clarity and expedite payment of the remaining funds.
