For decades, Maame Tiwaa was the powerful feminine voice behind the Yaw Sarpong & Asomafo music group, contributing to countless gospel classics that continue to uplift believers across the nation.

Her most recent public appearances included a touching tribute performance to Yaw Sarpong at this year’s TGMA and another memorable moment at her son’s wedding.

In recent months, she had also been a dedicated caregiver to Yaw Sarpong during his health challenges — a testament to their deep bond and musical partnership.

Her sudden passing has left the gospel fraternity, fans, and Yaw Sarpong himself grief-stricken. Tributes continue to pour in, celebrating her as a gentle, spirit-filled vocalist whose harmonies shaped generations of gospel music lovers.

The family has not yet released details regarding the cause of death or funeral arrangements.
