The parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Berekum East constituency of the Bono region, Elder Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, has stated emphatically that Ghana’s constitutional authority mandates newly elected political parties to continue developmental policies and projects of the previous government to enhance governance.
Speaking to Angel News after he organised communal labour with the people within the Berekum East constituency to weed around an abandoned, uncompleted clinic, the parliamentary candidate expressed displeasure against the ruling political party for abandoning a project of state interest for the past years.
He emphasised the need for the completion of uncompleted projects of the previous administration, stressing that Article 20 of Ghana’s constitution mandates political parties to, as much as possible, continue and complete uncompleted projects and policies from the previous administration.
On his part, the Assembly member for Kato Electoral Area, Hon. Ofori Dankwah, pleaded with the Berekum East Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kofi Agyei, and the MP, Hon. Nelson Kyeremeh, to ensure the completion of the abandoned Kato clinic to help provide effective health care delivery to the people of Kato and Berekum East at large.
Mr. Emmanuel Gyabeng, Berekum East Unit Committee Chairman, noted that the youths have thought it wise to embark on communal labour to clear the bush surrounding the hospital to eradicate dangerous animals and other reptiles that are using the area as a breeding place.
