Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif has promised the family of the late Christian Atsu that government will ensure that the former Hatayspor forward is given a befitting burial.
The Minister said this during a meeting between the Yagaba-Kubori Member of Parliament, the Ghana Football Association and the Twasam family on Friday, February 25, 2023.
According to Mustapha Ussif, President Akufo Addo has an interest in ensuring that Atsu gets a befitting burial and also expressed his condolences to the family and the GFA for the loss of the player.
Meanwhile, a meeting between the Twasam family, officials of the GFA and President Akufo Addo is set to happen on Monday, February 27, 2023, to deliberate on a suitable date for the burial.
The former Newcastle player made 65 appearances for the Black Stars and had 9 goals to his name.
