The Minister for Communications, Digital Technology & Innovation, Hon. Sam Dzata George, has announced the formation of a specialized team tasked with developing a comprehensive roadmap to enhance Ghana’s digital landscape.

The newly established team will work to balance the interests of key stakeholders, including citizens, the telecommunications industry, and the government.

Their mandate includes identifying and addressing challenges within the sector while ensuring improved digital services for all.

Comprising representatives from pivotal institutions, the team includes members from the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology & Innovation, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Finance, the National Communications Authority (NCA), the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), and the Association of Content Creators, among others.

In a statement, Hon. Samuel Nartey George expressed optimism that the initiative would lead to meaningful improvements in digital services, particularly in data accessibility and affordability.

“It is my hope that this team will come up with a workable plan that sees an increase in value on data offerings across the board,” he stated.

The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to fostering innovation and improving digital infrastructure in Ghana, ensuring a more inclusive and efficient digital economy for all stakeholders.
