Women in Techiman market have called on government and the Municipal Assembly to help them out for they are struggling with waste and choked gutters which always leads to flooding when it rains.

Speaking with K FM, the worried market women made it clear that the major problem they are facing within the market is disposal of waste.

“There is no dustbins and even when they took it the container to dump them they find it difficult to dump the refuse. Sometimes they get to the refuse container and it is already full and they would not get any place or anything to put waste in.”

Some also said that they the issue regarding flooding in the market is as a result of the choked gutters.

According to them, anytime it rains, they find it difficult to sell because stench from the choked gutters make it unsafe and unhealthy to sell in the market.

“When it rains, we don’t even get a single customer to buy our goods because the whole place is muddy, smells. We have been trying our possible best to solve this problem but it still persist so we’re apprealing to the Government and the Assembly to come to our aid.” They said
