The Lands Commission of Ghana has been sued by Waterstone Realty Apartment Complex, a private company for pulling down its two-storey building complex located at Ridge in Accra to pave way for the construction of the National Cathedral.
Waterstone Realty Apartment Complex is demanding that it should be paid GHS 120 million for its loss.
The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who shared a copy of the suit described the action as unfortunate.
It has therefore sued the company demanding that it be compensated for suffering a loss.
The Government demolished properties including the Appeal court justices’ Bungalows in Accra to make way for the construction of a National Cathedral.
North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, had said in June 2022 that the government has failed to compensate property owners whose structures were demolished to make way for the National Cathedral.
“The private developers whose properties were demolished have not been compensated,” he alleged
