Gov’t to augment human capacity of Security Services

The Chief Director of the Ministry of the Interior, Mrs. Adelaide Anno-Kumi, has disclosed that Government will continue to augment the human capacity of the security services in the country for efficient and effective delivery of their services.

The Chief Director of the Ministry of the Interior, Mrs. Adelaide Anno-Kumi, has disclosed that Government will continue to augment the human capacity of the security services in the country for efficient and effective delivery of their services.

She said the role of the security services in the socio-economic development of the country is enormous and cannot be overlooked and therefore ought to be appreciated.

Mrs. Anno-Kumi was speaking at the Passing out ceremony of 595 Recruits Fire Men and Women in the Ghana National Fire Service at its Training School in Accra.

“Government is concerned about logistical constraints faced by the Service in the discharge of its duties. I wish to assure you and the general public that plans are far advanced for government to retool the Service with ultra-modern fire equipment that meets world standards”, she said.

According to her, the devastating effects of fire in the country is worrisome and ought to be stopped. She, therefore, called on all to change their attitudes towards fire safety measures by adhering to fire safety protocols.

Mrs. Anno-Kumi urged the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) to intensify its public campaigns to enable the public to appreciate the fire safety protocols to avert the incidents of fire associated with illegal electrical wiring and the correct use of fire extinguishers and other related safety measures.

She commended the GNFS for exhibiting a high level of professionalism and dedication in the performance of their duties, regardless of the numerous challenges they are confronted with.

She congratulated the newly passed out officers for their hard work and endurance during their intensive training at the Fire Training School with the ‘Motto ‘Hard at Training Easy on the Fire Ground ‘.

The Chief Director entreated the officers to serve mother Ghana diligently by performing their duties with the utmost professionalism and be good role models to others in their various communities.
